Shabtai Shavit - Chairman
Mr. Shavit, Chairman of the board, founder and senior partner of ATHENA GS3 has over fifty years of experience in international security and counter-terrorism and is an internationally recognized authority in the field.
Mr. Shavit directed the Mossad, Israel's prestigious intelligence agency, from 1989 to 1996, culminating thirty-two years in various positions in the organization. Previously he served in the IDF, the Israeli Defense Forces, retiring after a distinguished service in "Sayeret Matkal" - Israel's Elite Special Forces & SWAT Unit. He wrapped up his military service as Southern Command Military Governor from 1958 to1959.
After retiring from the Mossad Mr. Shavit was appointed CEO of Maccabi Health Services Group, which he directed for five years. In the wake of 9/11, New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, appointed Mr. Shavit as an active member of the NYFD Preparedness Task Force. Mr. Shavit also serves as an advisor to the Special Sub-Committee of the Israeli Parliament's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
In addition to being one of the founders of the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Mr. Shavit also chairs this non-profit research institute.
Mr. Shavit holds an MA in Public Administration from Harvard University, Boston Mass. and a BA from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Omer Laviv - Chief Executive Officer
|
Mr. Laviv was recently appointed CEO of ATHENA GS3 after holding different Management positions in the company since 2002. On the cutting edge of the security, intelligence and technology sectors for more than twenty years, Mr. Laviv has unique expertise in security methodologies, including first-hand knowledge of the technologies, procedures, training and approaches in use and those that are currently being developed worldwide. Drawing on his varied experience, Mr. Laviv developed the TVRA methodology for Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment.
Mr. Laviv has led projects assessing security for various high-profile organizations including the Metropolitan Washington Aviation Authority and Exelon Generation and as part of our company's team of experienced project managers has successfully implemented many projects over the past years.
As an officer in the Israeli Navy he served in various positions of command, leadership and management.
In a diverse career with Israel's Airport Authority including operational, management and leadership posts he honed his professional competencies. In addition, Mr. Laviv is an active member of SAFEE (Security of Aircrafts in the Future European Environment), in which capacity he counsels European Union Security Agencies on counter-terrorism and aircraft security.
Mr. Laviv holds a BA in Business Management and an LLB from the Academic Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.

Ruben Paz - Senior founder and partner
|
Mr. Paz, senior founder and partner, founded ATHENA GS3 and was the company's first CEO from 2001 until the end of 2007. He served in Israel's Security Organizations for over twenty- five years in various key positions. He is a leading expert in security and operations and his specialties include planning, implementing and auditing operations and integrating technology and manpower resources. Mr. Paz retired from government service in 1987, after a lengthy and successful career.
He is the Vice-President of strategic planning and alliances for MS-TECH Ltd., which develops innovative technologies for the detection of explosives and biochemical agents.
Mr. Paz holds an MBA from Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheba and a BA from Bar-Ilan University, Tel-Aviv.

Alex Tal - Vice President
|
Vice-Admiral (ret.) Alex Tal brings to ATHENA GS3 thirty years of experience in naval and maritime operations. His military experience includes four years as commander of the Israeli Navy and two years as Military Attaché and Representative of the Ministry of Defense in Chile. Mr. Tal has headed security projects around the world on behalf of ATHENA GS3.
Mr. Tal currently sits on the board of directors of Zim Shipping, Mofet, and two high-technology companies, Orbit and Robo-Group.
Mr. Tal holds a BA in economics and business management from Bar-Ilan University in Tel-Aviv, as well as an MA in geography from Haifa University.

Daniel Shumer - Training and Knowledge Development Manager
|
Daniel Shumer, ATHENA GS3 Training and Development Manager, started his impressive training career in the Israeli Airport Authority, (IAA), ultimately serving as Chief of the Security Managers Training Programs Department, which he founded and developed. After twelve years in the IAA, Mr. Shumer worked in New Age Aviation Security and ICTS International before joining our company.
Mr. Shumer is one of our team of expert project managers and has successfully managed and implemented various projects worldwide.
Mr. Shumer is a highly sought-after lecturer on security training, often presenting his views at international seminars and conferences. He is also an active member of SAFEE (Security of Aircrafts in the Future European Environment), helping to improve and advance methods and systems of security for aviation and ground transportation in the EU.
Mr. Shumer served in the Israeli Air force (IAF) since 1986 and is currently an active Air-Crew-Member, specializing in training.
Mr. Shumer holds a BA in Political Science and an LLB from the Academic Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya.

Aharon Shahar - CTO
|
Chief Technology Officer Aharon Shahar is one of the leading technological experts in Israel and worldwide. In his current position as CTO at Athena GS3 (Ltd.), he is responsible for new developments, approaches to new technologies and strategic decisions, supporting, monitoring and accompanying the company's technological projects.
Mr. Shahar specializes in International Security and IT Systems, in Tracking and Monitoring Technologies, Communications Systems, Safety & Security Systems Integration, Air Transportation Control Systems, Airport & Seaport Security, Electronic Engineering, Survey Analysis, Concept Development, Town Surveillance, Risk Analysis Surveys, Vulnerability Assessment, Turn-Key Projects, Training, Training Procedures & Documentation.
Mr. Shahar is the technological consultant for Scientific Technology Incubator, specializing in security technology research and development.
Among his many achievements, projects & activities are the following:
· Athens 2004 Olympic Games : He supervised the installation and deployment of the tracking and surveillance systems.
· Command & Control Systems : He developed a Command & Control system that is "open" to generic HLS applications.
· Security Concepts & Technological Implementation of a "Safe City" Project : He directed the risk analysis phase, planned, developed, designed and fully integrated & implemented the Security Concept with its Technological Systems. This system will be completely integrated into the general IT system & data network. The project encompasses data & components on different security levels and includes various sub-systems and security components. Among these elements are personal & vehicle Access Control Systems, biometric screening devices, CCTV systems, imaging, perimeter security systems, guard & security personnel location, alarms connected to local & remote command & control integrated systems and others.
Mr. Shahar served as the Israeli Defense Ministry Command, Control, Communications & Intelligence ( C4i ) design & development officer.

Michel Azoulay - Human Resources, Assessment & Development Manager
|
Mr. Azoulay joined ATHENA GS3 in 2005 following twenty-eight years of service in the Israel State Security Organization where he began his career as a consultant and completed his tour of duty as a Senior Manager. His positions included Head of Recruiting and Vetting, Organizational Consultant and Manager of Special Courses Training.
In these different positions, Mr. Azoulay acquired valued experience and understanding of security organizations’ needs and the characteristics required of the personnel who serve in them. Over the years he succeeded in developing the professional tools and the required skills needed in the vetting & assessment of the individual for special tasks.
Prior to becoming a civil servant, Mr. Azoulay worked with juvenile delinquents and coached instructors for field and street work with these youngsters, honing his observation skills and his understanding of the human mind.
Mr. Azoulay holds a BA in Psychology from Bar-Ilan University in Tel-Aviv and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the Tel-Aviv University.
